MOLE END ORGANICS WON TWO FIRST PRIZES AND TWO SECOND PRIZES IN THE NATIONAL FRUIT SHOW
West Kent’s leading organic apple grower says his apples are very big this year after another year of unusual weather patterns. I spoke to Paul Ward of Mole End Farms near Cranbrook as harvest was drawing to a close. You can also hear from his apple picking team, which includes young people who’ve flown in from Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan for the summer. And Mole End’s farming director, Nico Ionita, tells us why she supports organic production as more sustainable and insists the taste of organic apples is much better than those of conventional apples where artificial pesticides and chemicals are used in the orchards.
